1. Introduction

Welcome to Hostel Connect (“Platform”, “we”, “our”, “us”).

By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Hostel Connect provides a digital platform that connects students with verified hostel listings, roommate matching services, and Verified Hostel Partners (VHPs).

2. Eligibility

To use Hostel Connect, you must:

1. Be at least 16 years old
2. Be a registered student or a legitimate hostel partner
3. Provide accurate and complete information
4. Successfully complete identity verification (National ID)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.

3. User Roles

a. Students

Students may:

1. Search for hostels
2. Book inspections
3. Make payments via escrow
4. Use roommate matching features

b. Verified Hostel Partners (VHPs)

VHPs may:

1. List and manage hostel properties
2. Schedule and conduct inspections
3. Receive payments upon successful transactions

VHPs must maintain accurate listings and uphold professional conduct.

4. Account Registration & Security

You are responsible for:

1. Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
2. All activities under your account

Hostel Connect is not liable for unauthorized access due to user negligence.

5. Hostel Listings

1. All listings must be accurate and up-to-date
2. Hostel Connect does not own listed properties
3. We act as an intermediary between students and property owner.
4. We reserve the right to remove or suspend listings that violate platform standards.

6. Inspection Booking

1. Inspection bookings must be honored by both parties
2. Users must arrive on time
3. Repeated no-shows may result in account restrictions
4. Hostel Connect is not responsible for outcomes of physical inspections.

7. Payments & Escrow

1. Escrow System
2. All payments are held securely in escrow
3. Funds are released only after admin verification
4. Hostel Connect deducts a service fee/commission

Refunds

Refunds may be issued if:

1. A listing is proven fraudulent
2. The service was not delivered as expected
3. All refund decisions are subject to admin review.

8. Roommate Matching

1. Matching is based on user-provided information
2. Hostel Connect does not guarantee compatibility
3. Users are responsible for final decisions
4. Payment is required to initiate match requests and is non-refundable once used.

9. User Conduct

Users must not:

1. Provide false information
2. Engage in fraud or scams
3. Harass or abuse other users
4. Misuse the platform

Violation may result in account suspension or permanent ban.

10. Disputes

1. Users may raise disputes through the platform
2. Hostel Connect will review and mediate disputes
3. Decisions made by the platform are final

11. Limitation of Liability

Hostel Connect is not responsible for:

1. Physical condition of hostels
2. Actions of users or VHPs
3. Personal disagreements between roommates
4. Losses arising outside platform control

12. Termination

We reserve the right to:

1. Suspend or terminate accounts
2. Remove listings
3. Restrict access

At our sole discretion, especially for violations.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform means acceptance of the updated terms.
